oil filter cover - 603.960 vs 603.961 vs 603.97

The oil filter cover of SDLs have two nuts. The oil filter cover of D/TDs have a central bolt. I saw a picture of a W140 SD oil filter cover and it has two nuts and a central bolt. Why all the variation?

I think they all have a cap with a shaft extending down through the oil filter into the housing, and on top there are two bolts on each side of the cover, thats what I thought all of them had....I've never seen one with a bolt on the center.......

The ones with only the two outside bolts are for models that can be pulled right up without the cover and the attached long shaft being blocked by the firewall.

The ones with the 2 bolts plus the center bolt are typically for models that will not clear the firewall unless the center nut is first removed prior to pulling the cover up.
