Comparing my 220D/72, to 240D/77 the obviuos differencs were in suspansion feel, the 220D had stiffer suspension, a lot more European feel, very tight going over railroad tracks, the 240D has better sound insulation, you get a little less of diesel click-clack inside the cabin, 240D is a little faster. both came with the same louzy AC systems.

Yes

Hell Teemeister. You MUST bid on it! I cant bring it to Phoenix but you could. At least it will be safe from corrosion for ever more here. One requirement though as I found the thing on E-bay is if you get it I have to come have a look see!

I guess it will go way over $4000 and I know "nothing" about this nice looking 220D. Damn it's tempting but also risky It's a lot of money... Peter, do you know a good MB mechanic in Phoenix who is a master on W115s?

Good Mech's in Phoenix

Teemeister.

I cant say wether they are any good or not but I know of two places that seem to work on older Benz's in Phoenix. One is German Auto near Camelback and 7th Street I believe and the other that's probably nearer you is German Car Service at 7520 E. McDowell Rd. Scottsdale AZ (480)970-6776. He had quite a few older Benz's lying around when I went past there a few months ago. There used to be another Tirman Autowerk but that unfortunatly closed down recently.
