Squeaking windows...

Just bought some front inside window felt strips from another forum member, very decent shape but now my windows make so much noise when they go up or down. Any known solutions?

If you are interested, I will fill a similar size bottle (eye drops or something) and ship it to you for $5 plus the cheapest postage rate I can get. On the other hand, if they say silicone will work that would be less expensive.

Steve
what is this Waxilit that you have?
The dealer used silacone on my tracks when I had a sticking problem.

All I can say is, this is MB's Waxilit and was sold to me as the correct product to treat the felt areas of the window seals/tracks where the window moves through while being opened and closed. I also know a similar product is used in wood furniture repair when they do not want glues, etc. to stick to viewed areas. I have used it twice since I purchased it. Only a small amount of it is necessary, in fact I found on one window too much keeps leaving marks on the glass until some of the Waxilit wears off.

If I am not mistaken, I asked the forum quite awhile ago about how to use the stuff. No response so I went forward and put too much on. I learned from that. Used in a small (reason for the small quantity dealer wanted to sell) amount there is no window noise and no film. I suppose it could be used on the tracks but depending on the area being lubed I use sunroof paste and synthetic grease.

The container I have is one of those, "it will last a few life times".

You now know as much as I know about this stuff. Hopefully, one of the MB Techs will be able to either confirm I am using it correctly or straighten both of us out . . .
