question about engine mounts on 82 300sd

Hello all,
I'm new to the forum. I'm putting the engine back in, it seems that I'm having problems with my oil filter housing not having much clearence. It seems as if the engine sat higher that this would not be an issue, these are not new mounts but they do seem to be in good shape. I was wandering if there is some type of spacer or shim used, that i missplaced, because i have miss-placed one of the heat shields. thank you for any responses.

Take a digital photo of the right side mount and post it on here.

Keep the size down below 67K otherwise it won't upload.

I will be going to work on it Wed. night 8-24-05, I will take a picture, and post it. Im going to stop by auto part store and see if they have a mount in stock and see about measuring it and compare to what i have, the only other question that i have do you know if there is a difference in the size of the oil filter housing i bought it off e-bay, and it was off a 1982 300td and I have 1982 300sd. thanks for all help.

That's a fine idea. Take a look at a brand new mount and compare the height to the one you have in your hand. If they differ by more than 1/4", the mount is shot. Make sure that you bring the right side mount with you.

AFAIK, the oil filter housing is the same between the two vehicles.
