Hey guys i just purchased a 99 e300 turbo with 80,000 miles on it replaced air filter and put diesel kleen in it. I also purchased speedtuning chip upgrade. what else do i need to do or look for this is my first experence with a diesel i would like to keep it in good condition. i would also like to bump the performance im goin to replace fuel filter does anyone have any tips on doing this or a diy article thanks

Congrats, it's a great model you chose...I drive a '98.

I would recommend you drain and replace the transmission fluid and replace the filter if it has not been done yet or if you don't know if it has or not. Use the synthetic fluid which MB recommends. These 722.6 trannys are supposed to be "filled for life" but life it estimated to be 100K miles unless you service them

Also, check the condition of the plastic fuel lines around the injector pump and filters. If they are dark and hardened replace them. Also, clean out the intake manifold and I recommend changing all of the glow plugs while you have it off...that will give you a good baseline to begin with. There are articles on this board on how to complete each of these services.

Then there are the routine coolant flush and brake fluid flush which should have been done periodically...if you have the service records for the car it would tell you a lot and help you to schedule future procedures.
