Hi,

I have a 1985 300SD and my turn signals recently quit working. I checked the fuse, which was in tact and not blown. All other components on the stalk/switch work fine as well. I called the local dealer to see if they had a new relay for the signals, which was probably mistake #1, and they said that they cannot find a relay for the turn signals on that model car. Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram that could send me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Stuart Harris

Try your emergency flashers. They use the same flasher relay and often just the act of using them fixes the problem as the circuit goes through the emerg flasher switch which gathers lots of dirt in its location.

gwagen,

AS steve(bfl) already stated, it is probably the switch of the emergency flashers giving you this trouble (dirt gets in the switch). Just flick the switch several times and hope that it will solve the problem.
The 300 SD has probably (like all other benzes the last 20 years) a combined relay for the windscreen wiper, rear defroster and turning signals...

greetingz,

Relay problem. . .

Thanks a million for the tip on the flashers. . . it worked! I'm glad it wasn't anything costly. You all must know these cars inside and out!

Thanks again!
