Very Impressed with Lucas Oil Stabilizer and what about Castrol Tection diesel oil?

I decided I needed to change the oil. Autozone had the Castrol Tection Extra 15W-40 on sale and the truckers were walking out with tons of it. They only had two gallons left.

It says API CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4/SL
Looks like BP owns Castrol now, or maybe always has. Their label is on the bottle now.

Does anyone have an opinion about this oil? I know most folks are Mobile fans.

By the way, I tried some LUCAS heavy duty oil stabilizer and it nearly totally stopped my oil consumption at 263,000miles. I am very impressed with their product. They make extended drain 15W-40 oil, but I have never been able to find it.

Check out the link above, there is quite a lot of info on oil, although you wont find good opinion on the Lucas product, ARX auto rinse is the preferred solution there for oil consumption problems.

Castrol is the leading oil seller here in India with 60% of market share, I grew up with Castrol and hated the fact that had no other choice, now they sell almost all the oils here. Having used the RX Super Max, I was not satisfied with it at all, thinned out early and consumption went up. I got far better results with Delo 400 or Delvac Super but seeing the CI-4 Plus rating on the Tection, I would say it should be quite good for your car.

Opinions about oil are very much like opinions about religion. Strongly held, but without scientific basis.
