On both my W123 300 D
On both my Diesels it is located far front, just below passenger side headlight. On my schoolbus, driver side and above the radiator. It is easy to see, a small electic motor with heater hoses attached at both ends. And if it is working you will have very hot water at the heater or as in a large school bus, heaters.

By the way, it is controlled/powered from the climate control unit, so if it is not working that may be the cause. I bought a new pump before I figured out mine was OK. When I installed a new climate control, it magically came to life.

i think it's behind the battery and a plastic panel. i feel like i read it's a real pain to replace, but it sounds like no one on here has replaced it.
as far as swining by thursday, i hope to. i forgot to ask apple... thanks david
