Beck Arnley - Air filter

Was shopping for air filters online and noticed advance auto parts has a Beck Arleny air filter for my E300 but it's about twice the price as Fram or Purolator. Is Beck Arnley really worth the extra $$$$?

Don't know, I doubt it's worth the extra money. When in doubt stay with the Austrian and German-made filters like Hengst, Mann, Mahle, & Knecht. You can buy those from Rusty or any other WorldPac supplier. I wouldn't put anything non-European in my MB in the way of filters. There are plenty of quality choices out there.

Man, that's hardcore! I'd knock the dust off it and hit it with compressed air...

This may be a dumb question, but what exactly IS the difference between the federal and california air filters, are they special in some way that greatly reduces emissions or something??? I just replaced my 300sd (federal) air filter with a brand new Hengst one for $17.60 or whatever.......

It's taller and smaller in diameter for the different air canister on that motor. Once you see the turbo setup, you'll be suprised... it's very odd.

I scooped up one for my SD for $8 something here. Now only if the SDL's was like that.
