Must have the Rear Window Blind-Gun Rack conversion installed and a Republican Party Sticker on the Trunk Lid

Sorry, I couldn't resist

Do a search on Texas emissions, I recall an extended thread on the rules in various parts of the state.

No emissions testing

scagle-

As far as I know, there is no emissions test for passenger diesels anywhere in Texas. In Dallas, Harris and Travis counties (& likely in others as well), there is an emissions component to the inspection, but it is waived if the car is a diesel (and consequently you do not have to pay as much). Otherwise, just the important things such as lights, brakes, horn, windshield wipers, decent tires, and proof of liability insurance. There is no requirement YET that you have a Republican bumper-sticker, but at some point another special (worthless) legislative session will likely be called, and maybe the "special" folks in the Lege can attach that requirement to the latest tort-"deform" measure.

Would a diesel ruin an emissions tester designed for gassers? Once, in Dallas, I was getting an inspection sticker at a JiffyLube type place and the tech started to hook the Volvo up to the emissions tester. The manager, luckily, saw the DIESEL badge on the trunk lid and stopped him. He told me as I was leaving it would have ruined the machine if the car had been started, and I have always wondered whether that is true...

Have a nice day.

Let's see..... toot your horn, flash your lights, turn signals, check the wipers, drive around the block, hit the brakes, check the parking brake and most important of all.......pay your money! Yep, that about covers it. Diesels only have to pass a basic ops inspection.

Now gassers is a different story. Emissions testing and that depends on the county of residence.

BTW, I'm not sure they allow Bush election stickers in Austin, where there is a large leftist mob, sorry, I mean population. Now if you are looking at west Texas, you had better have all of the previously mentioned recommendations and more.
