300d glow plugs almost out but stuck

I have a 85 300d turbo D. It has been sitting up for about 2 years and it wont start. All 5 glow plugs show to be bad with an ohm meter. I was able to get the plugs to losen to the point they are at the end of the threds but these little F*&^s will not pull out of the head. I did not want to use to much force in fear of breaking them.. any sugesstions. By the way they are the pin type.

I had a few on my '85 that were like that. I used the claw part of a hammer to ease my stuck ones out. Luckily none broke off. I wouldn't suggest doing it my way.
Soaking them with penetrating oil might probably be the safest although slow.

I know someone isn't going to like this idea.... But, in bad cases of stuck or mushroomed glow plugs. I have loosened them, put a heavy blanket over the area by the plug, Start the motor and give her hell. They pop right out. One at a time is the best way. It is better then breaking them off inside the head. Yes, you are taking a small chance on breaking something.

Crazy idea that would probably work but real dangerous. Could go like a bullet.

If you will soak them with PB Blaster and keep turning them as you pull them out. The carbon and or swollen tip is causing the annoyance.

I dont know about the "blanket" idea, but it would be fun to watch.

use a

ratchet wrench. I just did mine Saturday, and the wrench takes time, but it keeps em moving. I sprayed WD40 on the new threads, and it made for a much easier install.

PB Blaster is the best stuff I have ever used. It is a mechanic in a bottle.
