a w113 sl forum member just received his 1,000,000 km badge for a 113 chassis roadster. it makes me feel so small with my 80,000 miles.

anyone here have the 1,000,000 for an OM617 or 603?

Any thoughts on badge placement? I have them on the driver’s side on the 300 D, 250,000 km badge over the 500,000 km badge.

I'm going to send my application off as soon as I can find a dealer in town. I may have to drive up to the city. I hope it doesn't take two months to get here!!!

WOW. What engine does he have in that? Is that six cylinder? Ever been rebuilt? I don't hear about roadsters with that kind of mileage very often ... probably not because they aren't capable, but because people don't tend to schlep about the country piling up mileage in a roadster, I suppose ... must have been impeccibly maintained.

Hey, you might find someone at the GTG who can provide a good home for it.

From what I gather he lives in a warm sunny place where the w113 gets driven year round for 20,000 miles a year. The engine has been rebuilt twice, at 250,000 miles, again unnecessarily at 450,000 and has remained strong since then for about 650,000+ miles total. Has gone through several tranny rebuilds. He got 500,000 miles out of the rotors. Replaced starter once, fuel pump once, + usual stuff like exhaust, etc.

Just passing along the data. I thought it was very interesting. The engine in these cars is a 6 cylinder mechanically injected. Very fast with great torque when using the early 230sl cam.
