O.K. not to nitpick, the straight duraterms are great but they just don't have the bling of the chromiums.;)

DIESELVOLVO,

Bosch Duraterm Chromium Glow Plugs [part # 0 250 201 047]
Price = 18.30 USD ea

They last 3 times as long as the regular Bosch Duraterm Glow Plugs
(And they get Hotter Faster!)

ROY,

'Onliest place I know that has them is "Speed Autoteile"
(And because of the way Bosch packages them you have to order them 10 at
a time.)

Reminds me of the story about the kid that walked into the Blacksmith Shop. He saw a red horse shoe laying on the anvil. He had never seen a red horse shoe, before so he picked it up to look closer. He dropped it quickly and the Blacksmith said "What's the matter son, is it hot?" The kid said "no sir, it just doesn't take me long to look at a horse shoe."

I had a call this morning.
The owner put a full set of glow plugs in a vice at the same time, quickly tested them.

Opened the vice, and "reflex action" caught three before they hit the floor.
He was quicker than most to drop them, getting relatively minor burns.

After applying silvadene, he called to discuss the glow intensity/color.

:o :o He was terribly embarrassed by his reflex action, with extreme knowledge of the danger as a plastic surgeon, specializing in burn reconstruction and rehabilitation. :o

Warning for members:
Let them hit the floor, no glow plug is worth the BURN...

I did something similiar one time putting away a coleman camping stove. I was heating it up (during the blue roaring flame stage) and it started to rain and I was going to turn everything off and the tank (with the "generator") dropped off the front of the grill. I caught the generator tube with my hand and immediately dropped it. I had HUGE blisters for a couple of months form that.

If you touch the tip at 2372F you won't feel it but for a second before the nerve endings in your skin are killed by the heat.

Same thing happened when I got drops of molten lead on my skin while casting bullets for reloading. It doesn't hurt as much as you think because the nerve endings have been cooked. Also leaves a nice scar.
