Trans-x before ATF change or after?
I read about this at some point here but I can't find it now. I need to change the tranny fluid. Should I dump in some Trans-x before I change the fluid? Or should I dump it in after I put the fresh fluid in?
Thanks Andrew

from what i've read the answer would seem to be yes. Before in higher concentration to aid in cleaning out, after as an additive of sorts....Personally I have zero experience as I have not yet begun to pursue my tranny and the unforetold excitemnet that I will encounter whence I do....

Before and After
I have had dramatic fixes on more than one car...
if you search for trans-x , written that way, using my name as the poster you will find those threads... but Stayalert has said what I recommend and what the package says is best. |

SeaFoam makes a tranny flush that is supposed to be good, you might want to run some too. I have a few cans that i've ran through power steering systems, and the stuff did the job, but no experience yet in trannies...

I put seafoam in a tranny on a 97 Caravan that would not upshift unless you floored it and got it above a certain RPM and then let off the gas, and it would finally upshift. Anyway, it did this for about a year, and I wanted to sell it, but knew I wouldn't get crap for it because of the way it shifted. So my father told me about the seafoam, and it literally made it shift like a brand new vehicle! I don't know if it is a permanent fix though, because a few months later I noticed this guy was selling the Caravan again.
