How many times can you drive up to a service station and GET KEROSENE ?

None that I know of.... I have to go to my local hardware store... and have to search hard to find one which carries it in bulk... instead of just one gallon cans... ever priced Kerosene in the one gallon cans.... and typically they only carry the de-smelled one.. which costs even more...

And while the lubricity has changed... does that mean NO GASOLINE can be used to get you HOME.... or does it just change the max percentage permissible ?
I have seen Kerosene available at stations in northern climates. I've also seen diesel blended with about 30% Kerosene at the pump in the northern midwest during the winter.

Not that I'd try it anytime soon.. but if you can just pour a quart of oil into the tank, it must be able to run on it to some extent, right?
1 gallon of oil in a 20 gallon tank is only a 5% mixture. It will run fine.

Yep you can get kerosene at probably 1 in 3 stations around here. The one around the corner from my house has it right at a pump. Its dyed though. It says "heater kerosene" However, kerosene around here is between 3.89 and 4.09 PER GALLON.

Ouch! Heater kerosene is $3.11 here, and in 55 gallon drums it's $2.50.
