Looks good. IMveryHO though, I'm just not man enough to drive a green one. Especially not with that interior. Great period piece, though, and true enough about how they're all black or silver nowadays. Flame suit on: Those are the most timeless MB colors. I waited for what seemed like forever to find my ideal color combo: Silver with black leather, not Tex, with a good interior. It looks as good on a 300SD as it does on a SL65.
I'm not trying to make fun at all. My friend has a 123 in that hue, he calls it herb green, and he says he can't imagine it in any other color. Diff'rent strokes! |

Well, I'm told that I'm kind of an imposing guy, though I'm mostly a big softie. So I don't anticipate getting a lot of grief about the color.
And I agree about it being a "period piece." In what other era would you have been able to buy this color combo? It's pretty much early '70s to mid-'80s. ... You'd drive it home, park it, and walk into your beautiful new family room with wood paneling and wall-to-wall orange shag carpet.

By the way, regarding that color, a link posted for me in another thread (Vintage, I think) sent me to a place that says color code 881 (off the I.D. plate above the radiator) is "Thistle Green Metallic Clearcoat."
So, it should be a lot more green than it looks. Guess it's just faded this far.

GlennCraven, looks good as an avatar, I'm going to look at the link now. Guess we won't need to carpool to the GTG, if you're still going. We can caravan up though.

I'd like to go, but we'll see what happens. (I need to double-check the date, I have company coming around then. But then again, my dad would probably LOVE to diesel-up to a Mercedes get-together.)

By the way, interesting history on this car.
Cliff, who sold it to me, was (quite briefly) the third owner of the car. Owner 1 was a Dr. Anna Andrade of New York, who bought the car in January of 1983. She and the mean green machine parted ways in 1988. In December of that year, the car was purchased in Kingston, N.Y., by a Dr. Annie K. Young. It seems Dr. Young wrote a personal check for $13,500. So, the first two owners of this car for 23 years of its life were both woman doctors named Ann(a/ie). ... Kinda weird. Also, Annie Young took the car home in December '03 to her address in Woodstock, N.Y. ... So my car was at Woodstock! (Albeit 19 years too late.)
