Yes, they do, but AFAIK, not adjustable for more go-power like an alda.

What is involved to shim an ALDA? I've never tried to pull one off to check it out.

If you have a 617 it's easy enough to use the set screw atop the ALDA. You can add shims between the ALDA and the IP to preserve the original setting. Shims are generally a must for the 60x turbo engines with the intake manifold just above the ALDA.

you put a thicker or thinner shim on it...it basicly sets your adjustment range on the ALDA....but they are not easy to find in different thicknesses.

I would like to see exactly where those copper rings he mentioned were sitting, as I've hit the end of adjustment on mine and still not a hint of smoke.
To be honest with you, I never located a source for the seals. That link is from Rusty at www.*************** so he may be able to help you with that. I use silicone grease to lube, if the seals are still flexible, and reuse if possible. What helped the most was resealing the housing with a non-hardening sealant outside of the large o-ring.

As for the smoke, I have never been able to get much out of mine. I will be looking into seeing what the boost pressure is. Maybe the wastegate spring has weakened, after 350k miles. I used to have a link for adjusting the wastegate but it no longer functions.

I guess the lesson to learn in this is either print a hard-copy or save the information to your computer.
