I just installed a hitch (from etrailer.com) this week on my 300D. I'll be looking for a wiring kit this weekend. I don't know much about how to do it, but I do know that you have to make sure you buy the right kit. Some of them have a box contained in the wiring that is used with cars that have separate signal lights (not combined with brake lights). The kits for cars that have combined signal / brake lights are generally cheaper and don't have the box.

Good luck,
Keith

Add on wiring harness for trailering

? is there a possibility of interferring with the electrical signal portion (brake
lamps) of the cruise control?
If you lose a brake lamp (bulb) ,You Ain't got no cruise.

I wired my trailer connections this weekend. I bought the wiring harness from Walmart for about $19.00. They have them for specific vehicles (not MB, of course). I used the universal kit. I needed one with a control box since the brake lights are not combined with the signal light. Installation was easy and it only took about 30 mins.

About the cruise control......I don't know if the trailer wiring has an effect on it. My cruise works intermittently anyway. I'll be doing a search on here to find out some possible causes.......

Oh, for those who are interested..... Etrailer.com has hitches for 300Ds for less than $90 (that includes shipping). I thought it was reasonable.

Good luck!
Keith
