Oil in Prechamber
Last night I pulled my injectors and was supprised to find a pretty sizable amount of oil in the prechamber/injector holes, if that makes any sense. I did a search on this topic and this is what I came up with.
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/87120-oil-2nd-prechamber.html?highlight=oil+prechamber Is this some kind of serious problem? Can I clean it out with WD-40 sprayed into the prechamber. Thanks for your help. |
Bump, and thanks

It is something which can be serious....
So I suggest you keep looking for where it has been talked about... I think it can cause the precombustion chamber to burn out... I was not able to visualize the path that was talked about... but I have seen it in the shop manual also.... |
Head gasket or drippy injector is usual cause. You can clean all you want but it isn't going to fix the problem. Having the injectors checked is pretty easy: take to injector shop, have them show you that they have the manual for your injectors, then insist on numbers for crack and spray - before and after adjustment - as well as visual check on spray pattern.
