Any Canadians know this?

I have a 90 sel with daytime running lights which are really just the low beams. I also have an 87 TDT without running lights. Is there a way to put daytime lights on the 87? I assume it may just be a module that was plugged into the harness to turn on lights or is it a different wiring harness alltogether?
I think DRL came into effect in 1990 so I wonder was it just a plug in item.

If you want your DRL to be full low beam you can wire the relay to a ignition on source and leave the lights on. If you want them to be of a lower % than low beams I have no clue.

Low beams as running lights

You could just do what I do, after starting the car, turn on the headlights on low beam :sun_smile

In the w124 maintence books (PDF 82-0071) there is a procedure to retro-fit the canadian daytime running lights option (5 pages long). Requires installing the mercedes DRL unit in the passenger foot well and running some wires to the fuse box, the instrument panel, and the headlight switch.
