Talking 85 300D Cold start takes four or five crank sequences..

When I left home for Oklahoma in August my 85 300D started as if it didnt even need the glow plugs.
When i came back in October, the car seems to need to be cranked 4 or 5 times until it starts, just as laboriously as if the engine had just been reinstalled ( I think everyone knows that agony!!!). I have done a search in the Archives and it has produced nothing similar.

Any suggestions? I checked for air in the Lines....

I would check glow plugs, glow plug relay and the wiring on the glow plugs.

glow plugs

Hey, just a rookie here, but I would probably check all the glow plugs since that is fairly simple and free.
