I can't stand them, I think they are tacky and ugly. MB has such nice looking seats why have a rug on them?

I remember I looked at a W124 with them a few years back. My first thought as the owner was saying how great they were, was as soon as I got down the street they were going in the dumpster.

My car came with it and I like the extra cushining and how it feels. Seat covers however make me think theres something wrong with the seat and that's why it's covered.

I'm thinking about trying to replace my seats. but maybe a whole matching set of sheepskin would look nice? It kinda fits my style.

Thumbs up

I bought a pair for my 300D front seats about a year ago.

My seats are cosmetically good but perhaps the firmness was 75% or so.
Anyway, I did not buy real cheap ones. About $260+ in the East Bay, installed.

Feel nice. Look OK.

After 2 yrs it is recommended to switch driver and pass side since driver's gets more use.

Smell went away after a few weeks.

I like 'em.

But I'm only paying $250 with the headrest covers too, so that's why I'm doing it. I just want something to stop my side lumbar hole from getting bigger.
The type that covers like a shirt requires less straightening but are harder to straighten. The ones that cover just one side are easier to straighten but you need to constantly do it.

I've tried those Sam's club sheepskin seat covers, they were cheap alright, but they shed badly, they were returned the next day.

Andmoon, you have any pics of these seatcovers?
Are cocomats the ones made out of the 'welcome home' mat material?
My BMW has those and I think they stink as mats put look the 'period'.

Yes I can take pictures of the covers but that reduces the magical mpg improving abilities. Still want the pics or do you want to buy them sight unseen w/ super mpg enhancing ability intact?
Now there is the basement cement smell mixed in with goat, sweat and fart 'scents'

" difference in the amount of seating area I have left"

It is just hair. Take a $15 set of electric hair clippers from Sears and put on the highest standoff..... then shear them. Doing it while holding the shop vac tube slightly in front and above them will make it fast and clean.

Since I'm a mechanic, I'm not really in the cleanest shape when I drive home. In my TD, I could get away with this since my seats didn't match anyway. My 240D on the other hand, I already have a set of dark grey covers installed!

"used." Somebody bought them, or got them as a gift and didn't want them. They've been sitting around in the box since new and they decided to sell em'. Sorry, I don't have some wholesale hook-up or anything to spread around.

I'll post how I like em' when I get em'.

BHD....you should see some of the antiques I've rescued from the dumpster. I know a guy that got a rug from a dumpster not far from you that he got $20K for! I used to get good stuff out of the dump too....motorcycles, car parts.....but they don't let ya do that anymore.

I could use a new printer. What dumpster you been visiting?

Cheers,

Bill

My 300CD had a huge hole in the drivers seat when I bought it, I've had the sheepskins on it so long I forgot the hole was there untill this thread came up. So much nicer in the winter.

I got them from a guy with a 300D who gave them to me with $40 for doing his brakes He had just bought the car and didn't like the sheepskins or A/C!
