when I bought my first MB I took them out, then when I was getting it cleaned up to sell I put them back in to cover the rips. After using them for a while I really like them, they are cool to the touch (important in FLA) and easy to clean. I will put a set in my coupe.

I still think they look very tacky. Like those bead things that the Indian cab drivers put on there taxi seats.

I don't understand seat covers, why keep the seats perfect? So when the car goes to the junk yard you can admire the perfect seats?

If I ever buy a MB with them I'm heading for the nearest dumpster and throwing them away.

I like (good) sheepskins for cars with leather or vinyl, not to preserve the seats, just to make them more comfy in both the hot and cold. Of course, I spent about 650 hours sitting on mine last year.

yes, but sticking to the seat in the FLA summer with the marginal w123 AC is not a good option either. I think in CT you have less hot seat experiences

My velour seats are very comfortable in the summer!

Just use a sunshade, tint the windows, and leave them along with the sunroof cracked a bit. Besides looks are more important than comfort, I rather roast my butt then have ugly seats!

I love mine. As previously stated, very warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Yeah, they look a little tacky, but once you experienced the comfort, there's no going back.

I love my fakeskin covers, sheepskin would be awesome. The cost is high but I'll eventually get a set.

I got mine from Colorado Sheepskin in denver for about $250/pair. Good quality, I've had mine for years.

Both driver and passenger seat of my SDL have cracked due to dried up leather when I got it.
Sheepskins is what I used as a remedy because I can't afford the cost of re-upholstering.
Tried Leatherique and it didn't help at all. So far I am happy with the sheepskins. I got them from a 107 at a junk yard near my home for free!

Leaving windows open in the summer here is not an option either. it rains (and I mean RAINS) everyday for an hour between 12-4 in the summer.

Gee it has change, when I lived there you could almost set your clock by when it rained. Everyday from 3 to 4.
When you say it rains I know what you mean, between the rain and the lightning it made the afternoons very interesting. Before I lived there I had never seen rain (or lightning) like that. In California if we get 1.5 inches of rain in 24 hours it's a lot but in Lutz you could get that much in 1 hour.
I didn't understand why there were so many retention ponds until my first summer there.

I put sheepskins on the front seats in my coupe - Texas heat has cooked the seats (yes, sunshade and dark tinted windows - I said HEAT). Great in the heat and when it gets cold (almost as good as heated seats), love them, my wife wants sets for her 300SD and her Land Rover.
