W124 OM603 repair books

Anyone know of any good repair manuals for the 124 603? I have an 87 300d turbo. I'd like to be able to maintain it myself, but I am not confident enough to just start tooling around. I have the E-Class owner’s bible and it is packed with good info, but I'm sure there is more out there? Any ideas? I also looked at a few stickys here but didn't find much on the 124. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a Haynes manual for the 124 which is British, has been useful for many projects. The factory manuals can be found too. Ebay is a source.

Repair Manuals

You can buy the CD-ROM version directly from MB on their website for $20 plus shipping (<$30 total).

From another thread I started on this topic

I mentioned, in an earlier post, the availabilty of technical manuals for a very reasonable price from MBUSA. I got the service manual cds for my 1987 300SDL from them, and it cost $19.99 plus shipping, as opposed to the $120 I forked over to PerformanceProducts for the cds I got for the 1987 300DT.

I just received an email requesting help in locating these manuals on MBs site, and it is somewhat convoluted, so I am posting the information here, as well as a direct response to the individual who queried me. To find the manuals for your car:

Go to MBUSA website:

http://www.mbusa.com/index.do

move your cursor over the "Mercedes in Depth" pop-up

from the pop-up menu select "Classic"

on the new window that pops up, place your cursor over the "Classic Center" tab

from the pop-up menu select "Technical Literature"

in the new window that pops up, select the "Service Manual" item in the list for "Search by Literature Type", or select your specific model information in the "Search by Vehicle" section.

Don't forget to scroll through the window(s) that pop up for your searches...

In addition to the Service Manuals, many members may find the Owners Manuals and Illustrated Parts Manuals useful...

I hope this is useful (maybe put in a sticky?)
