Hello and Thanks!

Hello all-
I now have my first MB! "Garner" is a tan, 1983 300D turbo with 220K (well, okay, that's what the stuck odometer reads).
I want to say thank you to everybody for this wonderful and insightful forum, which I've lurked on for well over a year!
You helped me do my first detailing, my first fluid change, my coolant flush(poor man's variety-water, water, water til the green stuff was gone, now filled with the amber goodness), my timing chain replacement(thanks, DieselGiant), my hood latch adjustment, my window switch cleaning(amazing, it worked!) and my soon to be tackled front end rebuild.
You know who you are, and there are many who I'll probably forget, but I want to thank Brian Carlton, WHunter, R Leo, Larry Bible, Bonehead Doctor, hatterasguy, H-townbenzoboy, Biodiesel300TD, Palangi, and Old300D especially, for sharing your experiences, your wit, and, let's face it, the wisdom of your mistakes!
I don't have any questions at the moment, but my to-do list goes something like this:
1. valve adjustment
2. front end rebuild(tie rod assemblies, idler arm and center drag link)and alignment
3. front and rear window seals
4. alda and turbo adjustments
5. rear CV Boot replacement
6. A/C ciphering-can wait for now, I have R-134, it leaks, and I am leaning Larry's way, deal with that later!
7. oh yeah, fix the odometer!
All of this before I attempt the ole WVO trick(after I paint the house)!
So without further ado, I give you Garner!

Don't forget to at least check your upper control arm bushings even if the ball joints are good. THey are rubber and will deteriorate from age. Primary symptoms are cambered in front wheels...and also check the sway bar bushings to the upper control arms for the same reasons..

Welcome to the forum!

Wow, one year of lurking! Would this be described as a voyeur trait? :D
Btw, "Garner" looks pretty sharp! ;)

BHD- yeah, my mechanic buddy and I checked them, they still seem okay, but I want to do the lower stuff and see how that straightens out my pull to the right before I jump into the whole spring compressor deal, kinda nervous about that.
We'll do the wheel bearings first, then tie rods, idler arm, drag link, and see where we stand; I read that whole steering box thread the other night, and also hope not to have to go there yet.
SD Blue, thank you very much! I'm pretty excited, can you tell? Yeah, I may have the voyuer thing happening a bit, but more the "look before you leap", "what am I getting into" trait. It just so happened that Garner dropped pretty effortlessly(financially, that is) into my lap that I can go around the car's systems with my leftover spending money! Sure I coulda paid 2G more and had all of this done for me, but where's the fun(or learning) in that? :ears:

Understandible...those springs are under 4" of compression with the tires off the ground....trust me, I did my W116 last year....
