Glowplugs checked, one bad, which one? 1982 300D
Hi, guys.
I just tested my glowplugs on my 1982 300D by testing for resistance on each of the five holes on the flog that fits on the relay. They all read "1.0" except for the number 1 hole which read infinity. My question is, which glowplug is which on the block. Are they numbered in order starting with 1 closest to the front of the engine, or is there another order. Thanks, Pete. |

Thanks, and I am replacing them all. Just wanted to take a look at the bad one before the plugs come in the mail.
Much appreciated, Pete. |

Test the resistance on the plugs when you get them out. I replaced all of mine and all of the old plugs tested .6 corrected, the same as the new ones going in. They also glowed correctly when shorted to the battery. Testing through the wire also adds in the variable of there being a short in the wire as well. If there is indeed a short in the wire then testing them this way will also show a short in the wire. I'm not criticizing this method of testing! I'm just sharing my experiences.
