My 99' E300 has been "Greasecarred"
I'm not so technically savvy, so it took me the better part of two days to install this kit. Everything works perfectly. My greasecar kit is pretty cool. I'm amazed at how quiet my engine is once it runs on grease. I now have to figure out where to mount the switch and fuel indicator as these are laying loose on the floor. I was thinking the ashtray, but my Valentine 1 display has already been mounted there. Any thoughts?
Does anyone have contacts for filtered or non-filtered grease in Chicago? Have a great day.

I suppose that you already have something mounted in the box between the radio and ashtray. I keep my sunglasses there.
Otherwise, how about in the upper part of the knee bolster? Some place that your knee won't hit it in a front-ender, of course. I'd hate to cut mine up, but it might be the best place. |

I was thinking about the knee bolster area. I might try to rig something up this weekend. I'll post some pics real soon, and tips and instructions. This took me a sh$tl@ad of time and hopefully this info will help reduce your install time.

Please do. And please keep us appraised of any problems or lack thereof related to this operation.
I was considering fitting a W126 for WVO before it got hit this summer. Then I got the W210 and I was not sure that it would be happy at all on grease. But with the current price of fuel, it's looking more attractive. |

I don't know if you know Evanston at all, but the Blind Faith Cafe on Dempster near Chicago Ave in Evanson is run by my friend's parents. If they have a deep-fryer they might be willing to let you take the oil. They're a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. There's also something called "The Laughing Planet" or something like that near downtown Evanston. They might be a good place to try. Good luck and let us know how it works out. Be sure to only put super-filtered oil in that car.

I, too am curious to know how you do with the kit, especially in winter. I contacted them a while back and even spoke with the guy in central Mass they recommend for installs and he admitted he never put one into a late W210 model before so I was a little concerned I'd be the test case and didn't want to be his first one. It would be great if you could scan and post the install directions or at least tell us where the components "splice in" to the stock fuel and cooling systems. Photos of the install would also be appreciated!
