Engine Identification
An old man not far from my house was cleaning out his garage and sold me a Mercedes diesel engine that he had sitting in the corner of his garage for 10 to 20 years - could be 30 years - he said he forgot. The engine looks good. The guy told me it was from a 1950's or 1960's 190D, but he forgot the year. I would like to get some specifications for this engine, but I have no idea how. On the side of the engine (the opposite side of the injector pump) is stamped a number:
6210112401 To the left of this number (closer to the flywheel) is another number. It kind of looks like this: 05E / 67 I am not sure of the "/", it could be a "1", but there is a lot of space between the 05E and 67 and it looks like there is line stamped between them. Does this mean anything to anyone? Can someone give me some information on this engine. I appreciate the help. Thanks! |

OM621 was used up until about 67 or 68. I cant remember 621-011 for sure, but I think that might be a 200D. As the other poster stated, there were refer/industrial versions of OM621 also.
