Well, yeah, but I would have paid for the car, asked you to pull the seats, ship them to me, then you could sell the car. It wouldn't have taken too long, right?

Speaking of which......I'm getting ready to post some pics over in the "journey" thread. One pic is for you.

I sat on a car for my mechanic in a yard .It happened to have the cleaniest leather seats I had ever seen .Palimino prestein ,not a rip ,not a seam out of place.Going back 2 days before ,I was over for a visit at his shop ,he had a customers car ,a blue 300sd .It had the worst interior but a nice new paint job. After wrapping the cars service up he had the customer drive out to pick it up .Thats how the interior meet its new owner .The yard had just opened up and I was walking out to see the new patch of arrivals ,you can always spot an MB in a yard ,the hood grill sticking up in the air is like a flag of a ship. This one was a gold 300sd. I gave him a call to B line it to the yard ,no stops ,grab said wrenches and step on it.Within that hour 4 prospectors came a looking and the last ones were on full intent off retrieval .After traveling their way through other cars they exclaimed of getting the same wrenches I had earlier mentioned to my mechanic ,it was now up to a duel of who gets the seats vs defeat .I walked up to the car and started pulling bolts in front of the gents and they tried to explain their claim ,no sooner does my buddy walk up and I read off the tools ,he hands me the 10mm wratchet and are duel is over. The golden goose was ours. When that new interior was installed it was an amazing transformation ,from ghetto to luxury limo ,all in about 3 hrs worth of work.

I was with a friend some years ago. He was looking for a shift-linkage for a Fiat 128.

We go round the yard for a while and locate a suitable linkage. It was quickly removed, a couple of 10mm bolts....

My friend walks up to the yard owner and says, 'Have you got one of these...?'

'Nah, never seen one of those, Whats it off.....'

Friend says its from summit obscure, and that was that....

Thieving git my mate.......

There are over 100 in the metro area.
IMO, the best is "Parts Galore".

junkyard humor

Loved carrameow's family visit, also the fire ant ambulance ride. I'm slobbering over a 59 ford windshield, only 35 miles from here. And 6 trees to cut down to walk back to it. Also there's a 5 speed Ford v8 transmission that still shifts in Shepardsville, Ky,$150 pull it yourself. The reason it still shifts is it has a 51 chevy dump truck stacked on the cab and a loadstar 1600 dumptruck stacked on the hood. If I could get a 500' extension cord, I could cut the floor out in 30 minutes and have it out the driver's door in 2 hours. I must be wimping out in my old age, haven't done either yet.

Forget the extension cord; pack a generator in there --- then you can have a coffee maker set up, electric frying pan, electric hair dryer, whatever you need.....
