Looks like one of those sticky pads that hold cell phones and such in place.

Beautiful car, by the way!!!

Thanks

Thanks bonehead..and the square thingy on the dash is pad that I bought at bed bath and beyond..it is a sticky pad that is great for handsfree cell phone...clings to the dash is washable/reusable/and moveable non-adhesive and not magnetic...and I get wild looks from people riding with me when I put an ink pen or glasses on it and nothing moves while on it..at any speed or while making turns...its called an Original Sticky pad model #13822 and it is super-sized...all my cars have one...great conversational piece

Iceman!

That is a GORGEOUS w124, I cannot believe how clean and straight it looks!
How many miles does it have? Looks as though it just rolled off the showroom floor!

Awesome!

Car looks great

Very mint inside/out

I have a question.

Do you have any surface rust anywhere on the body? Around windshield seal or anywhere like that?

On our E300D I have this annoying surface rust forming around the windshield seal and on the A pillar (the pillar where the mirror is attached).
Otherwise car is mint. It just breaks my heart when I see cancer forming, even in small amounts. The car is going to body shop for repair next week.
Also I am going to get it rust checked.
Rust = =me

Pic of rust.... sorry to be offtopic but i had to vent

I hope non of that is taking place on you 300D !

No rust

The car has no rust, and it has 168,000 miles.

The lady I bought it from came by my office looking for a condo to buy..I commented that her car was nice and she told me that she was getting ready to trade it in for a new CDI. I asked her what she wanted for the car and she told me $3500. I always wanted a diesel since I had a Ford escort with a mitsubishi diesel in college. She didnt have a ride back to Orlando..so I told her I would give her a ride back...she had all the service records and all the ownership documents she intended to give to the dealer upon trade-in. We went to Bank of America and I had a cashiers check made out to her. I drove her home and was scared silly to see all the maintenance the lady had done on the car. I got the opinions of other ppl on this site and they reassured me that she had been taken by overzealous maintenece ppl at the dealership.

Upon arriving at her house..her husband told me that she was never slack on the maintenance of the car..so I breathed a little easier. And their house was nice too. This car was bought brand new in 93 and had been garage kept every day since. I even have the original window sticker...

I told her to remember me if she ever wanted to get rid of the 2006 CDI..she said that i would be the first she would call...but being that she is every bit 80 years old..I hope she tells her kids to sell it to me in the future.

From time to time we still phone each other and she still asks how her car is doing! She seems to really like the new car...and hopefully I will too..one day.

I think that the vents on the side of the fender are very cool. They should have been on the other side also, for symmetry!

Someone where I work has one of these in very excellent condition. It's the only one I've ever seen.

That car came thru Rock hill at 11:30 am this morning. I left New Smyrna Beach this morning at 4:30am...

Those 5 cyclinders were at full steam...coming up I-77 to 485...had some lunch at Showmars...all junk food of course and I spoke to an older couple on Park Ave..near the Mall ...they had a beautiful white 2000 sleek looking 320 sportcoupe...I asked them if they wanted to sell it...and the old man said hell no...The old woman wanted to give me a chance..she must have been wanting to trade it in..lol They were arguing all thru lunch...As she was leaving...she just shook her head and said...I tried...

Moral of the story:

If they wont sell..make them argue...maybe the resistant one will choke...

MD..I am going to the NC mtns tomorrow...my folks told me the fall colors are exploding...so off to Asheville in the am...of course with the digital..lol

PS My wife said no MB ride to the mtns tomorrow...We have to take our 2002 Honda Odyssey..boring...

Wow, I'd love to have seen the face on the salesman at the Dealership when she went to pick up her new CDI and told him there was no Trade-in
I'm sure he intended to make a really good buck on selling that car on, knowing what good shape it was in and all the work that had been done.
Chalk one up for the Good Guys

Her salesman likely offered her about $1500 trade in. Did you really spend $18000 in maintance?

Not me deis..the old lady...I posted every maintenance she had done on it...Now remember I am not knowledgeable about cars..in fact I am kinda slow when it comes to cars....well actually alotta...

But seriously, I didnt think about that question of the amount that had been offered by the dealership...Oh well

I bet they didnt offer her much...My new hobby is bird-dogging old diesels driven by older folk that cant stand another trip to the dealership for a repair..woohoo
