So long my MB friends

My brief two months with my 85' MB wagon has ended. I've got 3 other cars (mine, wife's, daughters) and a 91' Ford F-250 diesel truck to maintain. Owning/maintaining the MB was fun, but time consuming.

I sold my wagon tonight to a guy and his wife that owns a store that sells Bio-diesel. Likely that the wagon will never see another ounce of dino-diesel.

I learned during my brief MB adventure that you all are an awesome resource and I will tell all of my MB diesel friends about your forum.

Take care and happy motoring,

Hugh Benz

p.s. I think Twak is my favorite and this site has the best selection of smilies on the internet (I've never seen a better).

You know, we don't ban people from the forum just because they don't Currently own a Diesel Mercedes....
You could stay in touch so that if you ran across a really good deal on one you would already be up to speed on what it was going to take to keep it going...

Sometimes we ban them if they have a Mercedes 240D and live in the Texas heat without a functioning a/c for two years or more.

As we say around here............you'll be back.

Like others have said, you don't need to own a Benz to visit. I. too was Benzless for a year or so between cars.
As for your pickup, have you found TheDieselStop.com? A lot of knowledgeable diesel heads over there. Their "off topic" fourm forbids political threads.
Another good diesel group may be found at Oilburners.net
Hope to see you around

Well, my bro in law was showing off his V8 5.2 Jeep the other day in front of me, made me mad. Like saying I am very slow. I went back to look for an Audi A8 4.2 310HP on Ebay, and came across some Infinity Q45 4.5L . (just looking so far) . But that 1993 300SD S class got my attention the most.

Not meaning to go off-topic but does anyone know of a good Cummins forum?

You'll be back!

Still lurking

I should have said, so long as a Benz owner, but I'll still be visiting and lurking in the background for diesel info. Being in CA, the rest of the US always sees stuff before we do (left coast). Lots of good info on this site

I think the 85' wagon wasn't a good fit for me. It was in very good shape, but it didn't fit me right. Suggestions for a more fun diesel MB? Manual trans, 4 door sedan, not as old?

I have learned a ton of info on www.thedieselstop.com over the past five years. My 7.3L IDI truck would have been sold by now without the technical assistance on my online buddies.

I'll be around from time to time, thanks for the support.

Fit how? Literally, or generally?

If you're tall, you'll love the SDL.
I'm 6' 4" and I have the seat so far back,
you can't even see me when I roll down the tinted window.

I rate the car way up there on the 'fun' scale!
I am surprised by both the power and the economy.

Here's one that looks pretty reasonable:
