My sales booklet from '87 shows the SDL and 420SEL both tipping the scales at 3835, yet the 560SEL at 4035. I'd assume that's with a full tank of fuel and no driver.

Not sure why the 560SEL is heavier, maybe due to the power rear seats plus the warmers? If so, then mine has to be nearly that same weight (on and my lil foot rests too )

In any event, the L is heavier than my SD.

560's had a bigger engine, hydro rear suspension, and a lot more stuff. Thats where the extra weight comes from.

The Maybauch 62 still has us all beat! What do they weigh 6k+ pounds?

Is it worth it it looks pretty tired. You will probably have $700 into that thing by the time you get it. Kind of a lot for a shot car.
