Interest in aux tank?

I won this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8011462019&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
I hope it wasn't somebody here I was bidding against.

I am going to make copies of this but with a heat exchanger built in. Would like to know roughly how many to make. The more I make the cheaper it will be. I will be using copper lines with no seams inside the tank. The copper will not touch the AL.

Two for me, please. Well, let me know, how much you would charge. I'm definitely interested in a heated version.

i think you could've had a custom tank designed and fabricated locally for a little less than this with your exact dimensions/fittings/holes...

although i haven't used them yet, i have been in touch with atlantic coastal welding in bayville, nj and they are quite helpful and seem like a professional operation using high quality materials (1/8" 50/52 aluminum w/ epoxy coating)

they quoted me a price of $300 for a 38x14x9 (>20gal) tank to fit in my w123's trunk..
i think you could even go slightly bigger or add more options and still keep the same price, since $300 is their minimum charge and this size tank uses LESS than their minimum materials amount...

ok so let us know if you get in touch with them and how it works out

ps: here is a useful link when designing tanks:

If DHL loses your shipment get a hold of me....this clown underinsures shipments and you get the shaft when it goes bye-bye....

I bought an entire 4 speed swapove from him last year....DHL lost it...I got 1/2 my money back....from DHL which is all they would do...guy still owes more....but he never has what I need.

Hey people...

I have put up an auxiliary tank for auction on eBay, as well. Check it out here...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8013810709

Hopefully this will begin to offset the cost of repairing/replacing my 300...

I put that on my watch list....if it stays low enough I may grab it.

The tank was secured by a metal strap that was screwed into the rear wheel wells.

The fuel line connects through a threaded fitting, as does the vent line. There is no fuel sender on this tank.

I'm a bit confused on how an aux tank would work. Does the fuel from the aux tank transfer into the main tank or do you flip a switch to toggle between the main fuel tank and the aux tank.

I've always thought it would be neat to have a bigger tank in my car so that I could go 1000 miles between fillups.

The tank I have just uses a brass t-fitting to the main fuel suction line.

My plan is to install a 2 1/2 gallon tank behind the driver's side headlight. That's plenty to get me to and from work, which is 75% of the miles I put on the car. Don't mind having to add WVO every morning and the piping should be easier with everything under the hood.

Can't find any standard tank that fits my need, so I'll probably have a local shop weld one up.

I think the windshield washer tanks in 126's are already coolant heated.

I just got the tank....It is not 26 gallons as advertised.
It is a 19 gallon tank! I think I want a refund.
