This may be a dumb question but when you buy shocks on line, like from Fastlane for example, is the price given for both shocks? I need new shocks all around because they make a horrible noise whenever the mood strikes them. I think its around eighty something and I didn't get them because I thought it might be for just one. I've never bought shocks before and is that the price for two? Thanks.

I will tell you on my 300SD I tried Boge but was not satisfied. I went with Bilstien HD and love the ride. No dip , no sway, stiff but I feel a car of this weight needs it.
There was a thread no too long ago that asked a similar question Good Luck

Everything I've read is to get Bilstein shocks. I can't find them for less than $49/ea... I wish someone had a sale with them for that price plus Buy 3 get 1 free.

I'd prefer to use Fastlane because they sponser this awesome forum but I looked on **************.com and they have Bilstein sets from $100 to about $140, in pairs for each axle, comfort and hd. I think this is the route I'm going to go because its so much cheaper. Maybe if I wasn't fixing two old European cars off of a high school student's grocery store salary...

I just put the Bilstein Comforts on my 300TD, and they feel great. I've heard (at least for the wagons) that the HDs are too stiff, and make it handle like a bus. Of course, your car is a little different, but its still not a 'high performance' car, and might feel better with a softer shock. Don't worry, the comforts aren't silly Caddie soft, and are actually still firmer than most shocks, they just don't have the 'feel every notch in the road' sensation.
But either way, the bilsteins are the way to go, don't waste your time with anything else, you won't be satisfied. Best price at the moment seems to be http://www.adsitco.com who's got them for 49$ each. I hate to advertise against Fastlane, but their sale is very good right now. It won't last for ever, so if you are reading this in the future, just go to Fastlane, they've got a reasonable price on them too. peace, sam
