Unhappy Who knows about coolant flow direction in a 1981 300D? I'm lost.

Alright, gettin' no love on the tank style block heater installation question, so I'm going to a new tack:

Can anyone out there give me a run down on how the coolant flows through the system in a 1981 300D? Like from where, to where sorts of directions?

Specifically, 1) which way is the coolant moving through the heater control valve, and 2) which way (to or from the engine block) is coolant moving through the 5/8" hose that runs over the oil filter housing, and 3) which way does it run through the lower radiator hose?

Poor greasy gold (1981 300D) is sidelined until I can warm her up enough to get her started and winterized; the cold snuck up on me
thanks!

I think that it goes out of the head and thru the heater thats what it seem to do on the 240 . The cold water should flow from the rad to the motor thru the lower hose returning hot water thru the top hose. Then as the water temp cools the t-stat closes.

Coolant is PULLED into the water pump thru the lower radiator hose.
Then pushed thru the engine, out the drivers side (rear) to the heater core.
