bingo. a starliner coupe. yes. one of my all time favorite designs. still looks great. too bad the mechanicals are strictly early forties excepting the v8 which was early 50s.

one of my daydreams is to fit a 126 chassis under a 53 studie. there was the mb/ studie connection in the late fifties and early sixties, too.

i just dont have enough money though.

I'd buy several bars of soap and keep them clean. Even wax and buff them with my anatomy,

Soap?
Real men don't need no stinkin' soap. Real men live in the woods, don't bathe, don't shave, and kill bears with their bare hands! Real men smell of motor oil and axle grease, not some namby-pamby sweet smelling soap.

Real men don't care what their wives think! (and if you believe that I've got a bridge to sell you)

They don't only if they don't care if they get laid or not.

well

nothing wrong with that. but have you driven one? the steering is prob the worst part. brakes a close second. no prob not feasible to do the whole mb chassis thing, but to make a serious driver there is lots to do.

and for an occasional driver an aluminum v8 like a 560 would make a lot of sense.

the studies are pretty light and with that it would really fly.

"would really fly."
Maybe that is why they used them at The Salt Flats....
Re: Steering.... they don't have to do much turning at the Flats...
LOL
I know a Mopar guy that suggests a particular chassis configuration which has bolt off front suspension and can then be easily adapted to lots of other cars...

I thought the 126's chassis was the floor pan.

Perhaps a tube frame and 617 or 603 engine?

i realize

that the 126 is a unibody. that is a good reason why my dream remains a dream.

a great dream but how to meld the two? that is the problem.
