Question tach problem for 1985 300D

Tach is not working: thought cluster might be problem, replaced (it had other problems)tach jumps at start up and shut down but still does not function. checked website and checked relay under the glove box and fuse is good. please advise where to check next and how? EGR relay? kick down switch? locations of these and "shade tree mechanics tests? Thanks!";

'Tack amp' and 'cigarette butt' use piece of swimming pool noodle or other hard foam istead of cigarette butt.

Did you try replacing the Overload Protection Relay?

Not Applicable, sorry.
the '85 models do not have the tach module that we call the small garbage can appearing cylinder.

Where is this relay, and does it apply to the '85 model?
I replaced the computer module just yesterday with no success. Connector had green pins throughout, so I just knew that was it. Nope! Took awhile to find where this module was located.
Where is the tach sensor located? Pic please if anyone has pic of location.
