124 - 300D Central locking issue

For an 87 300D 124 body, the central locking vacuum is supplied by the small electrical pump under rt rear seat.
PO did something - there are burned and severed wires in the area. I can't figure where the basic power is spposed to come from. There is a red/white wire coming into a connector, but it is cold and appears to run to the rear. The wiring diagram shows r/w wire powered through fuse C (which is always hot).
There is no other apparent source in the compartment. Does anyone have a picture or can describe what the physical appearance of the wires in this area should be ( I have electric schematic, but can't fully map physical situation to the diagram.) For example, when this is working correctly does the r/w power source come from under set toward the trunk? What should I energize to test the pump out of the car?

Greatly appreciate all help.
