Didn't you just register within the hour?

Registration is the first step.
Members are not granted access to the info of other members,
until they have submitted their own info.
I don't mean to make things difficult.
It's just a precaution to try and protect everyone's information.

I manually add all info, except for the map, which is a separate entity.

Let me know if you have any questions.

OK

I figured out how to create a form.
Contact info can now be submitted via email, or through our form.

http://surfpick.com/submission

Please let me know if you have any problems using it.

best regards,
Ra

OK I submitted info and signed up but when I clicked to map forum I got ...
Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum.

This is a really good idea.
Let me know what else I have to do ....
Thanks

Hi Jeff,

You should have received a notification by now,
stating that you have been enrolled in the Brotherhood.

I have to manually add info and grant access,
so there is a slight delay before everything is configured properly.

Welcome... and let me know if you have any more questions

best regards,
Ra

We've still put out information for those needing help though. I can remember when a member driving from AR to Houston encountered trouble about 100 mi outside Houston and needed to know where to have his ride towed. I was able to direct him to a shop to have his car towed to.

In the world of old Land Rovers there is a collection of addresses and phone numbers for people willing and able to offer assistance to fellow members in the event of a breakdown far from home. If you don’t know, us Land Rover guys tend to take this old things on trips that most would think crazy for a 30-40 year-old vehicle! It’s a group called the Birmabright Brotherhood. (Birmabright being the term for the allow Land Rover bodies are made from.)

It’s free to join and costs nothing other than the understanding that if someone in need calls you, there’s an obligation to help in any way you can. The other members, in turn, are there for you if you have troubles your self. The list and it’s information is only available to people who themselves have signed up keeping abuses to a minimum.

It seems with all these old diesel Benz’s running around, and with the commonality of parts for them all, that these would be a perfect candidate for the same thing.

Is there such a thing out there?

Here’s a link to the site I run. http://www.birmabrightbrotherhood.org/

Very nice!

I currently have 2 Rovers, both discoveries a 96 and a 97... Plus of course now I also have this 87 300D... We must just be gluttons for punishment.

The Rovers actually got me into the 300D in the first place. I have been considering doing a OM617 swap into one of my trucks. In searching for a good donor I came across the 87 and after reading about what it was had to have it. To bad I can't fit THAT engine into the rover.

I sent you over an email to join. I'm always willing to get dirty under a rover and lead any help I can.

Agreed. I'm the kind of guy that would respond to a phone call from a random stranger in the area that needed some assistance.

Funny story nga, seems we have a few things in common. I had sworn off Mercedes cars years ago. I found myself wanting to put a diesel in my '99 Disco (never did) but there weren't any decent-power diesels that would fit. When I sold the LR I went looking for a diesel Unimog, happened across a 190D turbo, ... got hooked on Mercedes diesels again.
