this is exactly what the guy did on his td

I've successfully massaged my '87 Mercedes 300TD (stationwagon) to go from 0-60 mph in 8 secs, down from a stock 12 secs. This is significantly quicker than a similar model gas engined mercedes of the same era. I plumbed in a 3x4x24 frontmount intercooler and turned up the full load fuel quantity in the injection pump.

The Finns have been able to coax 450hp out of this same engine, with a stock long block, 7mm pump plungers, a massive intercooler and Holset HX-40 turbo. That combo's good for a 13 sec quarter mile street car--not too shabby for a stinky old diesel.

Man that is one heck of a lot of smoke. That has to be the biggest cloud I have ever seen spew from an engine that remains operational. It kinda sounds like a gasser when it whines up. Cool video.

That guy's clearly a liar. Diesels don't go that fast. Nothing to see here folks, keep moving.
