where is a good place to get a new pump I got a price of around 250 today mine still works but have read the posts about failure of the smooth cover ones is there a way to make it so that if it goes out it does not harm engine?

Click the Fastlane button at the top of the page, then find the phone number and call. But you have to wait until Monday for that option because Phil isn't there on the weekends. If the old style pump fails, it throws it bearings into the timing chain. Don't know for sure if there's a way to modify it.

$250 is a good price and it is only made by Pierburg so it doesn't matter where you buy it from. Most places are charging $300 to $350 for it.
