300D Sunroof opens ; Won't close!
'85 300DT
Electric sunroof opens fine, when I try to close it it won't move. It just makes a loud gear slipping kind of noise. It does close with the manual crank in the trunk. Anyone know what to do? If this is DIY fixable? AA

First thing to do is to find some Mercedes Benz sunroof lube. I have and others tried other lubes and for some reason only the MBZ works best.
Then manually open and lube the tracks. So a search using sunroof and lube Haasman

I have MB lube and a kit to clean tracks and cable...Do you think this is what is keeping it from closing properly???? Have you seen this before?
I got the kit from **************.com...

It very well could be. Also the motor could be going south and/or the gears could be full of crud.
No matter what, cleaning and lubing the rails is a must. Where on **************.com did you find the kit? Haasman
