Spray chrome

I need a good chrome spray. I've tried "metallic" paints, but it's always gray/silver, not chrome. Nothing I've found gives a nice mirror shine.

My corner chrome pieces by the side view mirrors are rusted and spotted. Picture included. I sanded them smooth, but now I would like to make them look nice with a good chrome spray.

Or, any other suggestions?

looks good.. its not actual chrome its anodized aluminum on these cars so i bet some Mothers magnesium/aluminum polish can get the dull look back to showroom shine..

i posted the link to it in the detailing section as soon as i find some im going to try it out

No, I haven't done anything to it yet except sand it.

And this piece is not aluminum, it's actual chrome from what I can tell.

I just want to spray over it instead of taking apart the door and spending another $500 on the thing.

EDIT: And BTW, Mother's is available from Advance Auto. It's not all that. I've used Mother's, Gords, 0000 steel wool, SOS pads, you name it. It's SLOWLY getting better. I am going to get a jewelers wheel for the drill and see if I can't get it back shiny now that it's off the car. But I tell you, Mother's is no miracle cure.

I seem to remember a spray or brush on chrome appearing finish sold in model shops for model cars. Perhaps a coat of that with a coat of clear over it might give you enough duribility. The other product that i remember was a mylar based tape used for repairing things like dash trim that you apply with moderate heat and remove backing. Again durability is the question in an outside enviroment. Basically I believe both are aluminum based but look like chrome.

I have a small hobby size bottle of Testers paint that looks like a wonderful chrome. I used it on a copper pipe in our bathroom to match the water valves.

I bought some chrome paint in a normal size spray can some years back. I got it at Murray's (Auto Zone type store) and it had a very shiny chrome-like finish. It was not perfect but it was the closest thing to chrome I've ever seen without actually getting it chromed.

I don't remember the brand, I'll look at the store and see if they're still selling it.
