Master of 603, am I?

I don't know quite as much about the 617, owned one, but the 603 I have done near everything......................................................................................?

GSXR..don't hear much anymore from.... and there is...SIXTO..and....B. CARLSON, are thge best knowledged here on the 603, do far as I can tell, Larry Bible, one who has not yet conceded has mastered the 603, all are qualified spokespeasons however for the 603..........

I think I shall, or, maybe, a good candidate for the 603 life span......so I'll say keep watching my site here......I'm looking for an 87 TD, or even a later TE, for a conversion........

New2MB 11-25-2005 06:39 PM

Well I've only been an MB owner for a few months and I'm no master of the 603 but I'm working on it (thanks to this forum) and I just picked up a beautiful '93 TE. Can we only have one master of the 603? :sword2:

A TE wouldn't have a 603 engine. A 603 is a diesel enigne and a TE is a gasoline model.

DieselJim 11-25-2005 07:11 PM

He did mention conversion with te.... I would like to see the 602 and 603 expertise go up.

rickjordan 11-25-2005 07:12 PM

My mistake.

Brian Carlton 11-25-2005 07:13 PM

Negative.

I defer to you, Sixto and Dave on the 603. I've owned it for 18 months now and haven't needed to change a glow plug yet.

I've had the head off the 617 and am far more comfortable with it.

I was talking about a conversion...........the only 124 diesel wagons imported to the US were in 1987. Surely such a conversion could work....no computers etc.....Seems the 103's give up the ghost sooner! Make themselves candidates...don't ya think?

turbodiesel 11-25-2005 10:16 PM

I know a thing or two. 100,000 miles and 3 years of ownership on a 300SDL.. all service done by yours truly :)

t walgamuth 11-25-2005 11:12 PM

i am thinking

that anyone who dares to think he is master of the 603 is definately asking for the wrath of the 603 gods.

tom w

616 and 617s rule!

turbodiesel 11-25-2005 11:15 PM

Back in 2001 when I got my 300SDL.. half of the people didn't know what the damn thing was.. "you sure you don't mean 300SD?".. the other half that did know, or had one always came to me with 603 questions.. then Hattie came around, Brian, etc and I am no longer the source of knowledge :)
