Cheap Texas 300D

Hey guys

I know there is a place to post cars for sale but I figured I would let you all get the jump on this one.

A friend of a friend saw my Mercedes and asked me what it was worth. I told her they weren't worth a whole lot given their age and everything. She said her reason for asking was that her father had one that he offered to her a few years back. She didn't want it so he offered it to her for sale so she can pay off her car early.

She finally got around to taking some pictures.
Squeezing information out of her is a little hard since she knows nothing about the car, but I made her answer these questions before I posted it.

Does the odometer work?
Is the paint faded in other places besides the hood?
Where is the car located? City State Zip
3 things that are wrong or in need or repair
What contact information do you want me to provide these people with?

Her reply:
ok so i don't know a ton about the car...
The odometer doesn't work, nothing in the dash works...
My dad says the car could use a paint job, but its not awful.
the car is in Carrollton, TX 75010
Contact info: Albert Oliver 214 558 9555

3 things in need of repair are: odometer, speedometer and the dash has some cracks in it

Here is my friends email, however she knows nothing about the car but may relay questions to her father.
claireoliver262@yahoo.com

I also know that it has been sitting a garage for the past couple of years.
I wouldn't expect them to be able to answer any questions beyond the mechanical skill level of the average Joe.

They want a reasonable $2,500 for the car

I know it may not mean much, but the engine compartment looks very clean.

I paid $2,800 for my 300D and its in better shape than that....NAZRAT, PWOGAMAN and Bill Murrow has seen it. But its better than some I have seen on E-bay for more.

I know how we all like our cheap benzes.
Im just passing on the information and thought it was a reasonable price considering it is a good running 300D that is free of tinkering, and may have lower use than some others in the same price range

I now the rust belt fellows don't see many that rust free....the plus side is they are honest and not claiming 40+ mpg and that they routinely last over 500K miles...like on ebay...

Looks like a nice car to me. Up here in the rust belt it would be worth $2500 being so clean. Maybe not down there where rust is not seen.

I got a friend ready to sell his '83 Turbo 300D that is looking for about the same price.

200k miles, blue with cherry blue MBTex interior.

I'll be posting in the for sale as soon as I can get some good pix of it.
