Fall leaves and wet drainage on a 123

Another really distinctive and superior difference between 123 and later cars is how they drain rainwater in the hood/wiper area. I hate cleaning out leaves on the new car all winter while it is not a problem on a 123.

I would rather clean the leaves out than give up the neat "hidden wipers" design of the 126, I love how the wipers "are not there" when not being used.

But I know they are there....areodynamically sitting in their cave, waiting to strike when rain or snow rears its moist head......... Wow that was weird....

On our '02 C320 wagon the wipers rest above the hood line and it has gutters below the hood line that can be a pain to keep the debris out of.

My 300D rarely spends much time at speeds where aerodynamics begin to really make a difference. On the other hand the C320......

Since the fall in gas prices people here in MI have been back up to 80-90 as the "normal speed limit", as in, people in the right lane do 80-85, and people on the left are between 90 and 100. No state cops around anymore either, no funding, I think I saw one on my last trip across the state. I went to ann arbor and back in record time doing 80-90, it was awesome! Still got 22mpg too!
