But he's saying money and the environment! Saving money for his new injection pump anyways.

One guy who motorhomed around Australia on waste oil discovered that the oil with the MOST power was [u]beef fat[/]. He collected and filtered his oil from resturants as he traveled. Now granted he had one HOTTTT veg fuel system that kept all his stuff very liquid. If this guy is doing that too... (and filter/dewatering well) then he should be fine.

ps. Please link to the actual thread where this discussion is taking place so we get a more real understanding about this.

No kidding... Just for grins, I may start keeping track of the number of old MB's killed by botched WVO experiments. Maybe starting Jan 1.

Oh bejesus guys...... this is total bunk. I figured there was more to this story that was being reported. That is jelled veg. cause it is 18F outside where the oil was stored. A good heated system and that will be liquied for fuel use. The better the heater system the less wait it will take to be motoring on it.

its 18 deg right now and the wvo in my drum is thicker than cold molasses(okay maybe not) but it takes a lot of arm to crank out the oil in the drum. i can't imagine trying to run a car on cold unheated wvo.

For thanksgiving we deep-fried a turkey, the oil left out side the next day was somewhat solid, now I see why it has to be heated.

It sounds interesting to try running a diesel engine on various fuels, though, as mentioned above, my biggest fear would be damage to the injection pump.

I never tried to infer he wasn't using a heated system.
But isn't that still a very heavilly saturated fat pile of WVO???
It never gets below feeezing here for me in FL. but I know that what I use would not turn into white saturated glop like that stuff.
Better there than in your arteries......I guess!
