Hi,
I found a 1984 300SD at an auction and picked it up for $700. Upon getting it home and pulling the oil pan, I was really disappointed when I found bearing metal in the pan. So... I found another good running engine and now have it in my garage on an engine stand. It had the typical oil gunk from years of not being cleaned. I degreased it and it's now ready to work on. I have ordered the front seal, new oil pan and gasket, valve cover gasket. But since it's not it the car what else should I do? I'd like to replace the rear bearing seal. How hard is that job. Can someone send me a link showing a step by step process? I've done several searches for that and haven't been able to find much of anything that I would feel comfortable following. All help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
