Local paper has a 1952 300B for sale. Does anyone know what engine this is?

That 300B would most likely be an "Adenauer"...looks like a giant Ponton, deluxe edition. In-line, carbureted, 3L, overhead cam 6-cyl.
IOW, a gasser.

I think this is from a '52. The Adenauer has since been shipped back to Germany.
