Thumbs up SD's adventures today - started right up below 32°

So I opted to drive the SD today and it started right up even with a Rock Dampner that needs to be adjusted. High idled it for a while then on my way... This is with a nice sleet storm right above us here in N Texas. While letting the idle settle some I flipped the heater on and worked okay until I decided to drive...

That blasted monovalve isn't operaional anymore. So it was a wee bit cold out in this upper 20° stuff without a heater. At least it won't leave me stranded, but I did receive a nice chill today for a few hours.

When you fix one thing... there's always another...

I am happy, my wiper blades have somehow improved in their wiping (no more smearing...??) and my monovalve rarely doesn't work, clicking it to min to max temp usually re-opens it if it shuts. So far it has only closed twice this whole season, both were times I had the heat on high and was doing a 4000-4400rpm acceleration event. Min to max on the dial and the heat was back. Looks like I can hold out on replacing those items for this season, so far anyways.....

Good thing since I just dumped $147 into an alignment at the stealer today. It tracks much nicer and they said the steering was indeed quite a bit off. They said it is hard to make it perfect until I replace my weak rear springs(and shocks)......looks like another item to add to the list... I am quite satisfied with how it drives for now since it does not drift anymore, maybe in the spring/summer I'll do the rear suspension....its way down there on my list of to-do's however.

Man am I a thread hijacker, I didn't even remember to say my SD started perfectly unassisted (heater unplugged) this morning at around 12-13 degs within 3 cranks after about 7 seconds of glow time.

My SDL started right up in the cold today too (drove that around earlier for errands) but he sleeps in the garage so no telling what temps are inside there. Those new glow plugs rock.

300SD fired up this morning (no block heater plugged in...about 30 outside with nighttime temps down into the 20's) after a 10sec glow. Idled at about 600RPM for a min or two then slowly came up to around 700 or so.

She turns slow when its cold outside...then again I don't work so good either. Guess we are meant for each other

Its five degrees outside right now, has been for some time....it started up tonight after sitting for 4ish hours in those temps with a single crank after a 10 second glow.

Low tonight is 2F, SO cold. Needless to say, car is in the driveway with its trusty heater plugged in. I know it would start just fine in 2F, but I don't feel like straining the starter/engine. Now that I have a heater, I intend to make good use of it.

I found a block heater here at PickNSteal, but I have no clue how to remove it. Seems to be a GIANT bolt...

6 Degrees here Northeast Ohio

the SD started right up-after bout 5-9 cranks in the toasty 6* degree weather. Supposed to get 4-6" of snow tonight should be fun.

300D 2.5 (602) started up beautifully on the coldest day of the year yet. ~25 seconds of glowing and it starts immediately. Outside temperature: -15 C or 5 F.
